MATTRESS INDUSTRY NEWS RELEASE
PLEASANT MATTRESS ROLLS OUT MAXX™, THE COMPANY’S HYBRID MATTRESS BRAND
MAXX OFFERS ‘ENGINEERED SUPPORT’ AND UNIQUE STYLING
FRESNO, Calif., Oct. 10, 2016 – Pleasant Mattressis bringing to market a new hybrid mattress brand designed and built by its in-house team, MAXX™. This line of mattresses is engineered to provide superior performance through its extensive sag-free engineered support structure of heavy-wire coils and ultra high-density foams.
Available in eight styles, the MAXX collection shuns memory foam and cheap foam in its material list to provide an alternative to the sameness on the retail floors.
“We’re beyond excited to introduce MAXX to the marketplace,” said Rion Morgenstern, president and CEO of Pleasant Mattress. “Our more than 55 years building mattresses have given us great insight into how to craft a well-made, supportive and long lasting bed. We’ve gone above and beyond and truly over engineered these mattresses for longevity. Mattress returns due to body impressions are not good for the retailer or for the manufacturer. We’ve constructed MAXX with components that will hold up and lower those return rates.”
Three families of mattress designs make up the MAXX collection. The Max. Conform collection is built upon a foam encased “Samson” spring unit of individually wrapped coils; a strong and quiet core that is sensitive to body contours. The Max. Support collection also features foam-encased heavy-wire coils in a hinge-flex double offset configuration. Max. Support and Max. Conform are available in Euro top, Firm and Plush models. Max. Response, also based on the “Samson” coil and features a specialty sleep format with a non-quilted top panel to enhance the responsiveness of the exotic comfort layers. The Max. Response is also first to market using a 3Mesh ventilating layer on the sleeping surface for engineered air-flow. Max. Response is available as a choice of comfort in plush and luxury firm.
Atop the sturdy, sag-free support structure rests sumptuous layers of ultra high-density foam and 100 percent natural Talalay latex. The comfort layers are topped with a soft-touch top layer of four-way stretch knit with an underlayment of natural New Zealand Joma® wool and high-density convoluted foam.
MAXX beds are priced to retail from $1,499 to $2,499 in queen.
In addition to creating a sturdy bed, Pleasant Mattress took the move to dress the beds in a unique ticking reminiscent of a bespoke suit. Heathered taupe, gray, and black combine for an eye-catching side band, and the ticking on the top of the bed features a contrasting, horizontal stitch for added appeal. MAXX also carries its unique hangtag, again offering a nod to the fashion industry.
“We looked to adjacent industries for inspiration in the design and presentation of this brand,” Morgenstern said. “By bringing style and materials from other industries into MAXX we are breaking the mold of boring mattresses. The design and comfort of MAXX is sure to produce great results on retail floors.”
The MAXX brand is supported by a newly launched, lifestyle website at www.MAXXMattress.com.
